Whether you’re putting together a post for Facebook or updating the cover image of your LinkedIn Business page it’s really important to use the correct size creative.
We’ve put together this simple cheat sheet for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter and Pinterest image sizes (all measurements in pixels):
Starting with my personal favourite, Instagram is exclusively based on visual content, so knowing all the sizes is vital for success on this platform:
- Profile Picture: 180 x 180
- Post (square): 1080 x 1080
- Post (landscape): 1080 x 566
- Post (portrait): 1080 x 1350
- Story: 1080 x 1920
- Reel: 1080 x 1920
- IGTV: 420 x 654
- Video Post (square): 600 x 600
- Video Post (landscape): 600 x 315
- Video Post (portrait): 600 x 750
Obviously still one of the most popular social networks, for both organic content as well as advertising. You may have noticed that Facebook has been moving more and more to the visual side of the content scale, and here are the sizes you’ll see there:
- Profile Picture: 180 x 180
- Cover Photo: 820 x 360
- Video Post: 1280 x 720
- Image Post: 1200 x 900
- Link Post: 1200 x 628
- Story Image: 1080 x 1920
- Event Cover Image: 1920 x 1005
Note: Cover photos appear slightly narrower on mobile (640 x 360), so make sure your image works for both formats. The best way to work around this is to ensure all important information or elements are centred in the design before you upload it, leaving approximately 90px on either side for the safe zone.
Turning to the businessy side of the social spectrum, we have LinkedIn, with sizes for both personal and business profiles.
Not only is it important to use imagery to stand out on the newsfeed, but it also works as a digital business card for yourself and a good way to present your company for prospective clients and future employees!
